So I have been doing a lot of thinking about my part in this hobby, my dolls and photography mostly and when Kristen was here we did a lot of doll talking and playing and oogling over other people's dolls and photography. Kristen said something to me that has stuck with me ever since, we were looking at someone's dolls and she mentioned how their dolls were all so "interesting". Then I started thinking how true that was and how important that was.
I then started thinking about my own dolls and wondered why I did not get the urge to photograph some of them and I think it is because they lack something "interesting". Sure they may be "pretty", decent face up and clothes but to me that is not really all that interesting and along the lines of boring. I think this is an exciting revelation and I really need to look into my own dolls and figure out a solution.
I don't want anymore boring pretty dolls but more interesting dolls. What makes a doll interesting? there are so many things and I need find out what that is and be more creative to and put forth this into my dolls and make it exciting for me again.
I really wish I could start this whole hobby all over again from the beginning as I would do it so differently but now I have said doll and have put work into said doll and gave said doll a name and have become somewhat attached it is too hard to let go Y_Y I really hate that and how I get attached to inanimate objects.

On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.
Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.
We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!
As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

Got my DoA x Dollheart Homme Fer the other day. :D I split off the jacket long ago, 'cause I knew I'd never use it, but the outfit itself is pretty hot. Especially on my gorgeous Mister Darcy. X3

I unlaced the whole thing so I could get it on him, but that back view sure is nice. 8D

Just finished editing my Morikami gardens pictures. :B It was SO WINDY out there. My poor boys' hairdos were all over the place. XD; Nomiki, in particular, did not look too happy to have his hair mussed. :< Poor Nomi! Leonidas just looked kinda like a mad scientist when his hair got floofed up. Or maybe like he'd been riding his horse across the moors at full speed! O: Or, yeah, I dunno. :'B
On to the photos~

Leonidas + pimp cane = OTP. Sorry Chris! X'D

The post-Halloween party went fantastic. I'm going to start organizing a Christmas and New Years combination meeting. Going to be at the same location, too. :)
Fair warning: The admission donation cost to help pay for the room is going to be raised. It'll be a minimum $5.00 per person. (You can put in more, btw. ;))
I've booked us in the St. Boniface room for: Sunday, January 10th, 2010
Now, for activities...
We'll still have the A/V equipment for our use, so not sure if you'd want to watch another movie or just put up AMV's or something else.
How about a Gift Exchange?
Of course there will be another Potluck.
What about Games? Such as.. charades? ;)
I was also thinking about setting up a Christmas Photo Booth, with a doll-sized tree, little gifts, chairs, and let people use it to take Christmas pictures with their dolls. :) We can even dress up a doll as Santa for the tinies! XD CUUUUTE! <3
Let me know what you think! ^_^

Hello. ^^
I'm Nayda but usually go by my nicknames of: Kamiyama, Nana, Char, Kaneda or Sarah.
I just got my first bjd on Halloween. :)
He's a Mo version 2 from Dollzone~
His name is Masato ^_^ (Haha, I just realized that it starts and ends with the same letters for Mo! Creepy~)

(Planning to buy him a new wig to fit his image in my mind.)
I know a few bjd owners from deviantART but I hope to talk to more of you soon. :3

So I heard some wanted a New Years Meet. We could blend Xmas and New Years into one meet? :) How about it?

Goodness!

It is Jessen's fourth birthday/anniversary today! Can't believe he has been here for four years now. Goodness, how time flies~
Should have taken more photos but instead I've been writing all day, trying to get back to my goal. And cooking. Made a kind of runny chowder this night. Should have added more potatoes to it. Ah well, still tasted good.
So to celebrate Jessen's fourth, here is a bit more Jessen-story-babble. Remember, unedited, unbeta'd babbly babble is just that, kind of long in breath and yes.
But it does explain a little bit of why Jessen is afraid of rain, if you care to read.
The Previous Part (which is really how Jessen and Kai met) is Here (it was actually posted on Jessen's third birthday. Heh.) Both are part of last years NaNoWriMo.
( Are you sure this place is safe? )
Oh the cheese.
Kudos to those who actually read. I know it's a busy bit of time and- yes. It would make me very happy if you did read it, though, if you were interested. <3

I will be at the meet on Sunday and will be bringing some items for sale. Items like furniture will not be brought unless someone asks for something.
I've listed the furniture in US funds on my LJ, but for people locally I will accept a straight exchange to Canadian!
Links and stuff for sale over on my LJ
Questions? Contact me:
PM over on DoA 'pris84'
or
email me at: pris84 at hotmail dot com
Thanks for looking! See you Sunday!
SD Skateboard: MSD or Tiny: Bible, Picture Frame, Base Guitar
Clothing! Volks, Dollheart, Sadol. SD, MSD, Tiny.
SD Wigs. Volks and Iplehouse.
Under the cut is doll furniture.
This is mostly just for local people but I will ship it if someone wants it.
I'm in Canada, so shipping might not be very economical as all furniture would be shipping in a box.
( For Dollfie Furniture )
I wanted to see if I could get away with making a blond Sabik as they really do scream dark and I also did not want him to look like Heat. I know for sure I am going to either sell or auction this head as I have had a couple of people ask me about it, I am just un-decided as to which I want to do but I really need money Y_Y I think he looks good as a blond, I hope others will think so to.
The wig was made for me by the very sweet For
