So I got most of my crew back from Belladonna last week and I am SO happy with them! The boys are SO sexy! And Lini is so cute... and so evil looking! XD It's awesome.

The 3 I have back are Connor, Ty, and Lini. Of these, I think Con is my favourite. His face is actually very much the same - still with lots of brown and earth-tone colours, heavier brown eyebrows, natural looking lips, cute little smirk, he even still has his freckles! But now it's TEN TIMES BETTER than my own faceup. XD Belladonna has some serious skill and she has totally brought Con into his own and made him look exactly like how I always pictured him. O_O So awesome... I am in love all over again... ^^

I took lots of pictures last week (I took a doll a day to work and took pictures on the way :O), so I'll be splitting this into 3 posts - one for each doll. After that, I'll post on DoA with just 12 pictures (4 for each) - so it will be only my favourite pictures! If you want to wait until I get that up, you're welcome to just look at those - I tend to take lots of pictures and I know it can be hard on people's computers - especially dial-up-ers. ^^;;;

BUT! That said, if you don't read my LJ posts, you won't get the dialogue. XD

It's dark by the time he gets back, having spent another few hours over dinner not only getting his car back to it's glossy black perfection but also finding a quiet, out-of-the-way eatery and easing his tension with a glass of wine and a perfectly bloody steak. The campus has emptied save for a few wandering pockets of students and he's able to pull into a spot much closer to their room. He feels... empty again. His face neutral and eyes cold. This is the way he should feel, this is how he feels comfortable. The throbbing ache of his cheekbone and eyesocket fuels a simmering heat of anger in his gut, of resentment, but it also reminds him to be cautious, and with every suppressed wince of hurt, it also brings a pang of regret. He can't quite decide why he might feel that, but maybe, he thinks, this pain is something he deserves.

So, does everyone remember I occassionaly write, too? Yes! It's true. OMG you all say, 'I had no idea!' Well. Yes. Ha. It's been a while since I actually posted anything because I have been lacking the actual time to write anything... but the bug has hit me and hit me hard and OMGoodness, I've actually managed to finish a short piece that I have been writing for oh... at least 3 months. -___-

Now see all, this is why I do not NaNo, ok? Roughly 11.8 k words. 3 months. Ya. Not so fast with the writing am I...

Rating: A for Angst - brief nude scene (changing), boys non-con kiss, mild violence
Things You Need to Know: Con & Ty used to be boyfriends until Ty 'moved away' with his Mom and Grandparents for 2 years. He came back to be with Con. Con was dating Al. Ty was pissed. Ty and Con had a rather explosive and disastrously violent run-in in their friend's bathroom. For reasons best known to these two, they still talk and occassionally hang out in each other's presence without police involvement. Ty and Con are going on a roadtrip to MIT to check out the campus together.

"Don't worry..."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, come on... don't be that way, Con."

Con lifts his throbbing temple from his fingers and turns to face Ty with a scowl, the other boy's icy blue eyes flicking back and forth to him from the road and back again as he drives. "I honestly... don't know what you're talking about," he says, with a tight-lipped smirk as he refuses to talk about it. Still.

"Fuck..." Ty sighs, leaning back into the heated leather seats of his BMW, feeling his muscles tense and his fingers work the supple wheel to get rid of the stress. "Fine, be that way. Not like you make great conversation, anyway..." But he continues to watch him, gaze moving from the road to his old friend every so often as if to make sure he's still there, he's been so quiet. Unusually quiet. But Con just goes back to staring out the window as if he doesn't even notice and Ty is reduced to watching the shadowy reflection of worried green eyes in his tinted passenger window, framed by the familiar shock of bright orange hair - a colour he hadn't seen for years until Con had finally come back from the war, come back home... but nothing else was like it had been... nothing else had gone back to being the same.

More from the last PhotoShoot. :) The little ones have undergone some changes as well.

Pru's got her new wig from Leekeworld (which fits fantastic! :D) and is all pretty and curly and princess-y, and also her new Hands eyes through ginarolo on DoA (very nice colour - perfect for what I wanted). ^^ She is now complete. Yay! And looking, finally, more like her Mother (or how her Mother will look. ^^ Those eyes are going to match - maybe not exactly, like not the exact same brand/colour eye, but the same kind of green).

And Con has got new hair, too. :) His natural hair colour has always been orange (like the tips of his old wig), but as it grew out flipside, he was convinced to get rid of the black ('cuz the Fae are big on colour ^^) and has since cut off all the darker colour, leaving it much shorter and a bright orange. :3 I've also put sealer on his black (plastic) glasses so hopefully they won't stain his lil' nose anymore, and is therefore wearing them more often. He only really needs them at night (they're a very light prescription) for driving and stuff (he's near-sighted, like me, which means he can't see far away things), but they've been staying on more, 'cuz I think they're cute. >3

We had a halloween meet at the Forks and all the dolls looked so great! So many nice costumes~ I just got a few 'cuz the weather was CRAP for pictures! D: All rainy and grey and dark... T_T But I lugged my few out in the spitter-spatter of light rain and got a few others, too. :3

Okay, so the Forks is like... Well, in the early days of colonization, the Forks was a fort. A trading post. It's centered on the crossing of the two rivers, the Assiniboine and the Red - major trade rivers in the old days. Now it's like a giant park. It's got markets... and an outdoor skating rink in winter (not to mention you can usually skate on the river in winter - not this past winter, but that was nuts). Anyway... it's big, it's pretty, Kels and I took some dollies and had a blast!

It was soooo nice. Like, 22 above (celsius) - nice and warm. ^_^ And there was only a bare breeze, so posing was easy-peasy! We got some really great shots, I think. Hee! I took Connor and Ni. It was their first shoot together. Got some very nice brother and sister pics - plus brother being bratty and big sister bringin' the beats pics! XD

Thanks muchly to Wolfie! (myarmcanfly) Because I asked how she did her lovely Adrienne's... haha... He was always supposed to... if only because when I got 'im, it freakin' shocked me how much the Snyder mold looks like this boy I know who has the most adorable freckles! XD But I really had no idea how to do freckles before... O_O Now... turns out my watercolour pencils didn't like me... so I ended up doing them with acrylic paint thinned pretty heavily with water instead but otherwise it was pretty much the same deal... tiny lil' 18/0 brush and patience! I was so sure it would be harder than that... I'm pretty happy with how they ended up! ^____^

Also, his lips, which I'd been struggling with... I now think are decent. I gave up on mixing natural colours and I just used pink chalk pastel! XD Ha! So they're really pale and natural I think... Of course when I mixed the paint for the detail lines... what do I do but end up with just the right freakin' colour?! I swear... >_> But anyway... I painted the lines and moved on! :)

[knee jiggles, hands in pockets] It's a bit different, but I hope... well, I hope you like it. Okay, so... I could... sit here. And tell you all about me. But then you'd have to wonder, wouldn't you? If it were the truth, right? So... I thought I'd give you some perspective... and introduce you to the people in my life. Alright. So... here goes.

So... verdict? I think he looks scarily like this boy I know... His lips are now pink, not purple - vast improvement, imho. Am still liking his eyebrows - done freestyle, as all my eyebrows are... they are now a light brown, which I like better than the really dark brown they were before, and have details in mustard yellow - it looks kinda cool, actually. The blushing is working for me. The resin is not as smooth as Volks' resin, so some parts of his face picked up the chalk more than others, but that's okay, it's barely noticeable and most of it is hidden by his hair, anyway, so it's not buggin' me. He needs eyelashes, but I have no MSD lashes, so that will have to come later. I totally wanted to give him freckles once I realized who he looks like (I wish I had a picture, you guys wouldn't believe the similarity!) but I didn't trust my skill, or lack thereof, so he is freckle-less.

All in all, I'm pretty happy. :)

Note: This boy does not look 13. The face mold is more mature and the body... SoulKid bodies are buff. So, Connor has miraculously aged 2 years. He is now 15. Good for him! ^___^

Still need green eyes and a better wig...

Bonding experience my ASS! Stringing a dollie is so not fun. I imagine that lil' tiny neck bar instead of an S-hook makes stringing a SoulDoll extra special, too... Strung him once, realized his arms were the wrong way 'round, redid the arms, realized I hadn't put that stupid neck bar in, in the beginning, like I was supposed to, tried to slip it in, lost the string for his right leg, had to undo the stringing for his legs, restring him, realize I'd forgot the torso, unstring the legs, put him back together normally and voila! What do I now have? A SoulKid strung like an MSD, for one, with one elastic for the legs instead of 2 separate ones, just in case that made a difference - pretty sure it has severely limited his neck movement, in case you're curious, but otherwise have noticed no major difference. Also, he is more loose, now. Which did NOT, of course, fix the problem as he still does the leg flippy, toe flippy up thingy with his right leg... Only now it's a hell of a lot easier to fix when he does it... is all... So... slightly better. But really... not a lot. Not damn near enough to make the last hour worthwhile... -_- Yaar...

Also, am not happy with his faceup. The colors are all wrong - his lips are actually purple. How I achieved that I'll never know... but they are. And it makes him look like some emo kid... which he isn't. And there's not nearly enough blushing around his eyes. However, damn are his eyebrows nice! Finally got me a 18/0 brush and holy shit man, does that make a difference!!! tresvanilla you give damn good advice, girl! XD Umm... no pictures, 'cuz it was too dark by the time I finished (it's been cloudy all day). Will snap some tomorrow so all you nice folk can point and laugh. Point. and Laugh.

Also gave Halla her bite marks while I was painting Connor... They look... alright. Again, will take pics tomorrow and y'all can tell me what you think.

Umm... I was so gonna post nice piccies today and then... you know... Connor. So... *shrug* These things do happen...

Oooh! And before I forget! Nicole... pretty pretty please... when we do get together next, would you mind maybe helping me string him again - I can't stand this flippy foot thing, it's driving me bonkers. There has got to be something that can be done! It was hell... but with help? Maybe not so bad? Pretty please?

So Connor's here!!! (sidenote: NO customs! :D) Snyder is a seriously pretty mold. I think he's gonna match Connor's personality really freakin' well!! :D And the SoulKid body is absolutely gorgeous!

They sent him with light blue eyes... which are pretty (SoulDoll eyes are mmmmmm.... very nice), but I'm really not feeling them for Connor. I'm thinking... green, definately green. I went through a phase when I wasn't sure... but yeah, now that he's here, green. Hewitt's wig is far too big on him - which is a pity because I actually like the look... He'll wear it until I can get my hands on something else, though, probably a CanCan. But not red, like I was thinking... I like the Hewitt wig, so... black. Connor's 'original' wig that Doyle stole... a Leekeworld wig... is SO huge on him. Take note, SoulKid owners or future SoulKid owners... Leekeworld wigs are fantastic, but they DO NOT FIT SoulKid! They are too big. But I didn't really like the look, anyway... So I am feeling ever so much better about Doyle having the wig, now. ^______^

Connor is also strung super tight and is incredibly difficult to pose - my god, this boy absolutely must be restrung! It takes me forever just to get him to stand and he doesn't even do that well! XP His legs kick and his arms snap and his right foot keeps bending upwards! DX

He is sanded, so that's better than Connor... but he's not sanded well on his left side, so I will still have to finish that at some point... (although I will say, his hands (fingers) are sanded better and more carefully than all my Volks' babies...)

*sigh* Basically, Connor is a lot of good mixed with a lot of things that need fixing... but the important thing is that these things can and will be fixed! XD

I'm off to paint his face now, wish me luck!!!
