Okay, so... these are awful pictures. I make no excuses. There was like, no light... in my room, but I thought hey... everybody always asks me, 'Wendy, where do you keep your dolls?' so... here they are. This is where I keep my dolls. XD

Things to know:
1) I have 2 rooms to myself in my whole house, so the dolls all cram into my bedroom.

2) There isn't much room in my bedroom. My double bed takes up about 80% of the space and my dressers and bookshelf take up another 10%, which leaves me just enough room to walk around my bed.

3) I have no room for glass (or any kind of) display case in my room! XD

Now, that's it. Of course, the dolls rotate places and switch partners occasionally, change who they're talking to, switch into their PJs and go to bed, sometimes... whatever I feel like. XD I play with my dolls. >D

Yes! :D So it's been an incredibly long time since I got a family photo of all ma resin babies together. Last time, in fact, I had only 5. So, that was a lot easier. XD

This is a fairly basic shoot, just everyone in one place, reminiscent of a 'Family Portrait' you might get if you had a family reunion and forced everyone out in front of a backdrop to get a 'pich're of ever'body!' But simple as it is, it took me 2 hours!! And that doesn't even count the time it took to get everyone dressed! XD

Since everyone is in this, I decided to make the 2 'whole family' shots larger, so I'm putting them behind a cut so as not to blow out anybody's LJ format. After that, there are a few quick shots of everyone closer up.

So I braved teh cold today for a group portrait shot of my whole dollie family all together (which will be up later), but then after that, I also went out to get some shots of my big girls together. I had originally meant it as a sort of comparison shoot between SD16 girls and the Perennial body, but then... it just ended up being too freaking cold for much posing and the light was too weak to get nice shots inside (I don't have much lighting in my house). So... I took some pretty shots of the girls together instead. ^^;

Yes, so Alex is back. <3 I really love his new faceup, and now that I'm getting used to it (XD) I'm having no trouble seeing him as 'Alex'. He is not, technically speaking, the same doll in any way. He is a different head and he's on the new body (because his original did not match in colour - but this one is perfect) so basically he's a whole new doll, new face, new everything except for wig and eyes (though I also trimmed his wig so his bangs don't obscure his face so much anymore - did you notice? ;3).

He still has smoky eyes but Bella really elongated them so they look more narrow and asian rather than Alex's previous 'droopy', 'relaxed' look. He looks a little more focused with straighter eyebrows and his lips are much lighter, in fact his overall faceup is much lighter than his previous, but his eyeshadow is amazing and gives them real depth - totally my favourite part. I am having a bit of an issue with a bit of paint pooling on his lower lids (the pink) that catches the light a little weird and I may have to do something about that eventually, but for now I'm dealing and I don't want to risk the faceup. O_O It's too gorgeous...

Anyhoo... Ray's still the same Ray, though I really don't have enough pictures of this boy. XD

DikaDoll Hands

Thought I would take some better pics of the hands, too, in case anyone was interested in them. They are a bit smaller than the SD13 boy hands, though when I was taking pictures I realized... I don't notice it so much in pictures. XD But they are, especially in the palms, and the fingers are more delicate/slender. The ball-joint where it fits into the wrist is also a bit small and as a result, there is little poseability in the wrist joint. He can't really hold his wrist bent at all; pretty much it just stays straight.

But! I still like them. XD Poseable fingers yay~ Now if only Volks would come out with a pair... >> *fingers still crossed on that one* ^^;;;

Every time I hear "Problem Girl" by Rob Thomas, it always always without fail makes me think of Ray and Alex. Now these boys were once an item. When I first got Ray, he was, in fact, Alex's boyfriend (or... as much of a 'boyfriend' as Alex had ever had in his life up 'til that point). They lived together, and had been living together for years (that is to say, when Alex was in town, he lived with Ray).

Ray has been head-over-heels for Alex since the moment he laid eyes on the boy... but Alex's feelings were always a little more complicated than that. Alex does love Ray and cares for him a lot. Ray always made him feel safe and at home and comfortable and it was a very attractive feeling for Alex in the middle of the rest of his tumultuous life; Ray... was his safe spot - but that feeling doesn't exactly lend itself to intensity, if you know what I mean, and eventually Alex met someone else who really flipped him on his butt in the love department and that... was the end of Ray and Alex.

So now that Alex is once again alone and picking himself up after a severe devestation and depression, he's finding himself drawn back to those people and places that made him feel safe. He's looking for places to hide, and people to hide with, and one of those people, when he's in town, is Ray...

This is proving complicated for Ray, who is, if anyone doesn't know, dating Mischa - a boy who genuinely loves him. Finally...

So anyway... long story short, I took a bunch of pictures yesterday and while editing them was listening to some Rob Thomas and I thought hey, wouldn't it be interesting to do a photostory medley of Rob Thomas lyrics? XD Yes. Seriously. All dialogue in the following is actually song lyrics from Rob Thomas songs. What the heck, right?

The pictures were originally just intended to be pretty pictures, so there are no fantastic sets or anything, but there are plenty of shots of Alex's Dikadoll hands and DA-DA-DA!! ALEX!!! :D 'Cuz he's back~ New face and everything. :3 Belladonna did a great job capturing his character, I think - he looks different, but still like Alex, to me. Though everyone keeps telling me he looks younger? o_O

Anyhoo. Without further ado, I give you:

But here it is, anyway... ^^ I recently found out about an amazing new line of Barbie from Mattel (c) called the 'Fashionista'. Now I've been a fan of Barbie for a long long time, ever since I was little, but the one thing I always really didn't like so much was just how... difficult a doll she was. Her legs barely bent and her arms never did. She pretty much just stood... or sat kind awkward-like with her legs sticking out in front of her. Now as a kid, I loved her anyway, and as an adult, I began collecting the Collector's line of Barbies which I pretty much just keep on my shelf on their stands to look pretty and enjoy, but as I discovered the Japanese Momoko and the American dolls like the Fashion Royalty, I started wishing Mattel wasn't so stupid and behind the times. >> They make a pretty doll, sure, but I want to pose her...

And then... they came out with the Fashionistas. Jointed. Barbies. Wrists, elbows, shoulders, under-bust, hips, and knee joints. Freaking. Fan-tas-tic. I was like... :D when I first saw them and rushed to Toys-R-Us to see them in person. I was not disappointed. (Well, keep in mind this is a Barbie we're talking about and you won't be, either XD). The new line is really very poseable with hundreds of natural looking poses. Her wrists and elbows swivel in their joint and turn, and she can do the splits! She holds her poses well and comes with really funky clothes and nice makeup - she still has that Barbie Super!Grin XD but if you like Barbie, you kind of have a soft-spot for it, too, I would imagine. :3 The new line could be better made, with noticeable seam lines on all the dolls I saw. And the plastic she's made of, while it feels nice, is also soft enough that those stupid clear elastics Mattel insists on strapping their dolls down with actually leave marks on her. But all-in-all, I am so ecstatic about this new line that I went and did something I don't often do - I took pictures of a fashion doll. XD

Reposting my Intro paragraph from my DoA post and chatting a bit with Yaro in this one - just for kicks. :3

Intro
A new addition sprung onto the scene this week, a brash mid-(to late)-twenty-something singer by the name of Yaro Nova. Not your typical punk-rock lead, alternating between singing high and pretty and screaming into the mike for effect, Nova's voice is a powerful force that carries clearly above the weaving of strong base and technical guitar riffs that pound into her audience. Confidence in every note, she's clearly more than capable of pulling and pushing her audience along for one wild ride of a concert. Is it age? Is it experience? As she says, "When you're young it's all about flash and effect, but I'm too old to scream into mikes anymore - I have too much to say that I want heard... and I want it heard loud an clear." But that said, Nova doesn't skimp on a good show, with plenty of hard-hitting lyrics mixed with intimate confessions by the band and a personal banter with the audience guaranteed to draw you in, the energy is high enough to keep you floating for hours. A guaranteed good time.

So I was out and about today and thought I would lug along the new girl and get some more pictures while trying out some more imaginative posing (well I try to be imaginative anyway, mostly I just find some interesting picture-taking spots... >>). I tried out the girls SD16 Volks Jean Capris and they fit awesome - I swear these are the Traveling Pants in my house - they fit the SDs, SD13 girls, and the SD16s, and now... the Perennial, too, apparently. ^^ Much love to these jeans... I wish I had more Volks SD16 girl stuff. Yaro doesn't fit the tops, though - SD16 girls are bustier and have thicker waists, so their shirts are actually too big on Yaro, while I suspect the reason the jeans fit is that they are stretch - which is important to make them go over her big fat ass. X3

Anyhoo... next time I photograph this girl I want to take pics of her with Amy and Pearl and kinda compare the SD16 to the Perennial, and maybe do an actual 'posing' post, where I just try an' find out what this girl can do.

In the meantime, this post is split in 2 because I took 192 pictures today and picked 40 to share, and that's a bit much for a single post.

So I finished paying off a certain somebody on Nov 4 and lo-and-behold, she's already arrived! :D Actually, she arrived Tuesday... Wow, that was fast. ^^ She err... might look just slightly familiar for anyone who's been with me a while (refresher for those who don't recall or weren't here or just want a reminder).

This girl is a repeat in many ways, but she is also the first doll I've ever had a first, middle, and last name for in the first week home. Meet Yaro: Yarona Nova Levi.

So the last to show off is Lini, my newest bitty baby. She is a Dollzone MiniBB Luna. She's smaller than a Yo - about Lati Yellow size. She has huge eyes! XD She moves really well and has excellent posability and balance - go DZ! I think she's cute. :3 I got her second hand off DoA and after some frustration with her faceup being a mess on arrival, I wiped her and sent her off to Belladonna with the boys.

What I asked was basically this: Lots of pink. Lini is a carniverous Fairy. She should look terribly cute from afar with enough detail close up that you start noticing she's really evil-looking; off-putting enough that you start thinking she might eat you if you turn your back! >D

What I got was pretty darn perfect. X3

Lini's story: Lini is a Fairy. Yes, the same kind of Fairy that Doyle is constantly yelling at people for calling him. The evil little bastards that eat people. They love sidhe flesh, especially when it's still wriggling. Get me? Not the nice kind of fairy, okay? Fairies are about 2 feet tall and typically super skinny, almost skeletally skinny, and their bones are hollow like birds so they're really light. They have wings and yes, they do fly.

Fairies are cousins to Pixies, except while Pixies are mischevious, they're generally not sadistic, flesh-eating carnivores who thrive on blood and battle. Fairies... are. Lini differs slightly from her Fairy family in that she is significantly better fed, and has to work a lot less hard for her food. As a result, she's not anything like skinny; in fact, you might say she waddles somewhat. She's too heavy to fly, but she's still super strong like the rest of her kin and has wicked sharp teeth. How did she get like this? Well... most fairies live with other fairies that they have to share their kill with. They also have to go out and kill animals or... other fae, and waste a lot of effort hunting in packs only to divide it up. This uses a lot of energy for a limited amount of food. Lini lives here, on Earth, surviving by basically attaching herself permanently to someone's side and funneling energy through this person to themselves to keep them from Fading (fae term, if you don't know it just think: getting sick and dying, which fae will do when they are cut off from the magical energy of faerie). She hunts on her own and it's not really hard when most humans look at a little 2-foot waddling doll-thing and think 'oh, that's not a threat'. One 6-foot human feeds one tiny fairy for quite a while. >3

Lini is also different in that while most Fairies don't make deals with anything other than another Fairy, Lini has been making deals with the Big Folk for a very long time while doing her thing on Earth - since she's alone here. One of her deals was with Alex. Now she owes him. Big time. She is repaying him by acting as Pru's bodyguard, essentially. She's attached herself to Pru. Pru carries her around like a doll. Everywhere. Lini eats anyone silly enough to threaten Alex's god-daughter. Lini gets to stay well-fed and gets the protection of living with Pru and her Mom, and Jane (the human bodyguard), in a place where she herself is relatively safe and no one is trying to kill her per say. All in all, it's not the worst deal for Lini, and she's a good bodyguard for Pru. So everyone's happy. XD

YAY! TY!! W00t!!

So next up on the picture-list is Ty - Tyson Fletcher. My charming little sociopath. Eeeheehee~ :D So call me crazy, I'm totally in love with this boy. He is slightly off-putting, sure. He's totally the charming guy next door who dresses well and is polite to all the neighbours... then one day the cops come 'round asking questions like 'How long have you known Mr. Fletcher for? Were you aware he had over a dozen bodies buried in his backyard?' and everyone's like D: 'What? I had no idea~ He was such a nice boy~'

Now don't get me wrong, my love for Ty is only partly because it's fun to be evil sometimes (as a writer, just like actors who play good guys all the time must love to cut loose and play the villain every once in a while ;3). The rest of it is just that... he's interesting. He doesn't think like most people (me included). It takes me hours to work through his motivation for the simplest of things; it took me months to develop his relationships with friends and lovers and to really get a grip on why someone who says he doesn't care about other people would even bother to have friends and lovers and how he would justify treating them well or not well depending on what he needs them for. His insecurities and his paranoia, his needs and the base emotions that drive him are fundamentally different than the rest of my characters. He is at once my most stable, most sane, most level-headed character, and my craziest, all at the same time. Also one of my most lethal and dangerous characters... and one of my most broken and tragic, too. He's fun to think about is all I'm saying. Fun to write and interesting to have in my head.

Basically, he may be mean and cruel sometimes, but he's also charming and gorgeous and utterly irresistable to me (and on occasion, to others). I don't know if I can properly explain why or how I adore him so much, but I do. T__T So there. No apologies. :P

And now he's here in doll form and he has a face now and he's GORGEOUS! The Limho Mono has an AMAZING body. Lean and tall with sexy sexy legs. >3 And butt-dimples. The face mold has this tendency to be a bit pudgy-cheeked and 'nice-boy' looking, but Belladonna did an amazing job making him look just awesomely gorgeous and smirky and a bit mean and cold and just PERFECT for Ty! :D He has a very pale look and I am STILL glad I bought him in Pinky-White French Resin because it is so translucent and beautiful and a totally gorgeous colour. I have him set up in my dolly bunk bed now (OMG HE'S NOT IN HIS BOX XDDD). He's on the bottom with Con - yes, with Con :P they cuddle, so what? anyone got something to say about that? it's an uncomfortable truce, I think Con feels bad for him because everyone else in the house would kill Ty as soon as look at him and he's the only one who can stand being around him (ironic, I know) anyway, they don't do anything - and I've draped a blanket over them so they're in the dark and out of the light. STILL PARANOID ABOUT LIGHT. Yes... Yes, I am. ^^; But he's too pretty now to put away. T_T

So I got most of my crew back from Belladonna last week and I am SO happy with them! The boys are SO sexy! And Lini is so cute... and so evil looking! XD It's awesome.

The 3 I have back are Connor, Ty, and Lini. Of these, I think Con is my favourite. His face is actually very much the same - still with lots of brown and earth-tone colours, heavier brown eyebrows, natural looking lips, cute little smirk, he even still has his freckles! But now it's TEN TIMES BETTER than my own faceup. XD Belladonna has some serious skill and she has totally brought Con into his own and made him look exactly like how I always pictured him. O_O So awesome... I am in love all over again... ^^

I took lots of pictures last week (I took a doll a day to work and took pictures on the way :O), so I'll be splitting this into 3 posts - one for each doll. After that, I'll post on DoA with just 12 pictures (4 for each) - so it will be only my favourite pictures! If you want to wait until I get that up, you're welcome to just look at those - I tend to take lots of pictures and I know it can be hard on people's computers - especially dial-up-ers. ^^;;;

So I did it! :D I managed to sell enough that I could make an offer for a partial trade on a body and I got it. :3 It was an insane deal, let me tell you (he had a broken finger and a few dings around his neck, but otherwise is in perfect condition - and frankly I kind of thought the broken finger was fitting considering why I need the body ^^;). Anyhoo, right place, right time, definitely. I'm happy, the other DoA-er is happy... it's so nice when everything works out. XD

I still do not have heads for these two. Alex's new head is paid for but I don't know if it's even shipped from Japan yet. :\ Y!J buying is so slow through a shopping service... I never realized just how much... But anyhoo. Yay, he's paid!! :D So awesome.

Lini, Ty, and Connor have been repainted and should also ship home soon. From the pictures, they look amazing! :O I can't wait to see them in person. I'll share later; I don't want to jinx them! ><

For now, I will share pics of the body, 'cuz it's too cool seeing the difference in Alex's old bod. I never had another Volks Beauty-White to compare him to so I really had no idea how he was aging - but the new body is almost like new. It may have aged from time, but is a perfect even colour all over and I don't think has been in the sun much if at all, so there is definitely a difference. :3

First, box-opening shots. The person I traded with told me not to freak out when I saw the box and assured me the body was well-packed, so really... I was prepared for this...

So ya... pretty happy with this. Now, if Morbidollz can put Alex's broken head back together he will at least have a body, and if she can't... well then I will have to figure out what to do with that situation if it happens, when it happens. I'm trying to just take things as they come at this point. :)

One more post of doll pics taken before last weekend. These were taken after a doll meet at our local gathering spot at The Forks. It was sooooo hot! D: It must have been like +30ºC (+86ºF) and humid. OMG I ran from shade to shade and still I was so uncomfortably hot... T_T The sun was also wicked bright. T__T Still... I had taken four dolls just so I could get pics, and dammit I was determined! XD They were heavy~

Anyhoo. Here are some group pics of my kids: Ray (Tony), Mischa (SWD Syo), Ni (Mimi13), and Wynn (Liz by blanki). All these guys are friends (in my story). Ray and Em are boyfriends, Wynn is a friend of Ray's (her daughter, Pru, is Ray's God-Daughter [or was when he was with Alex, anyway - and for the sake of the dear little 6-year-old's mind still is as far as she knows]), and Ni became friends with them all through her friendship with Alex. They had fun together, I think, even with me pausing every so often and forcing them to take pretty group pictures for me! >3

Okay, so I was struggling to move my sales post to DoA, but DoA is being incredibly stupid and it's frustrating me so I decided to post some pics, instead. I took these a couple weeks ago and never got around to posting them. So today I shall.

The sun starts heading toward the horizon and lighting starts getting... interesting. I am still SO happy with my new camera. T_T My old one would never have taken non-blurry shots even in this light - which is still plenty of light really! Sony is LOVE!! :D

We passed by some flowers near the mall and stopped for a quick Ani shoot. Flowers have been amazing this year - it's all the rain, I'm sure! Non-stop freaking rain... but these flowers loved it, anyway, they were spilling over the planters on all sides and SO vibrant... Have I mentioned I like vibrant colour? ^^

Wandering home, we found a bit of green space in the urban jungle and decided to exploit it. >3 I like vibrant colours - reds, greens, etc. in my backgrounds - can you tell? I love how the dolls' colours pop against them. Speaking of popping colour, Keeley's cute lil' knit is courtesy of miffimifster. It's totally cute and fits perfectly. I <3 hats. :)

Took Aniqa and Keeley to work yesterday and spent the evening wandering home, taking pictures, missing buses, taking more pictures... ^^; It was fun. It was such a gorgeous day yesterday! It was nice to be outside. :3

I got some cute pictures of the two sisters, I think. I'm trying out new eyes in Aniqa - a gorgeous purple pair I traded for last weekend. They are so pretty... Not sure if they will stay, but I like them better than her defaults, I think - not sure... I have yet to really find a pair of eyes that scream "Aniqa" to me, I really have no idea what colour I want her for. XD So it's mostly trial and error trying to find the perfect pair for her...

I also got a new outfit for Keeley - at the same meet - and OMG it fits her so nice! XD It's a DZ outfit, so it should fit, but it's amazing... Keeley has clothes an' all, but most of it is 'a little off here, a little off there, a little tight here...' It fits okay, but not perfectly, and this fits perfectly and is cute to boot. I am ecstatic. :)

And okay before I ramble too much more, on to the pictures! I'll split this into 3 posts so it doesn't kill anybody's compies (there were lots of pictures I liked - I took 450+... I was out a long time... >>).

So I haven't been playing with my dolls much lately and I was starting to miss them, so I decided I'd sneak Em into my bag and take him to work with me. ^^ On the way to work and on the way home I got some sweet shots - including bus shots (yay bus!! :D) and some sunset pictures that turned out nice with the light. :) Nothing breakthough or artsy here, just sweet shots of a sweet boy. :3

I realized I don't have too many shots of Em - don't know why... I guess he's still pretty new, to me. But I do love him so, so... Ya. Here ya go. :)
